Trade Associations - Gov SETE To Launch Institute For Tourism Training Issues by GTP editing team 27 February 2013 written by GTP editing team 27 February 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 Following the recent announcement of SETE’s new role as social partner, the association will now be involved in training issues for tourism through the SETE Institute (INSETE) soon to operate. Through INSETE the association will handle a percentage of funds from the account for employment and vocational training LAEK (a fund set up for in-company training by Greek Manpower Employment Organisation-OAED) to launch training and certification programs throughout Greece for tourism enterprises and especially small businesses. The Articles of Association of INSETE were approved last week by SETE’s members during the association’s Extraordinary General Assembly. According to reports, INSETE will be composed of four shareholders: SETE (80 percent), the Hellenic Federation of Hoteliers (10 percent), the Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (five percent) and the Hellenic Confederation of Rented Rooms and Apartments (five percent). SETE was announced “social partner” by Labor Minister Yiannis Vroutsis in January and can now engage in constructive social dialogue with (social) partners SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises), GSEVEE (Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen & Merchants) and ESEE (National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce). This “upgrade” gives SETE a say in the consultation process to determine Greece’s minimum wage and the National General Collective Labor Agreement.
