Trade Associations - Gov Greek Tourism Minister Approaches Japanese Market by GTP editing team 11 March 2013 written by GTP editing team 11 March 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 “Greece is a safe and welcoming country and Japanese visitors are welcome throughout the year,” Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said today, 11 March, to the chairman of the European and Tourism Committee of the Industry Association of Japan, Shinichi Yokoyama. Mrs. Kefalogianni is on an official visit to Tokyo to strengthen the tourism cooperation between Greece and Japan. During today’s meeting, the tourism minister informed Mr. Yokoyama in regards to the Greek Government’s reform efforts and noted the improvements in many of the country’s economic indicators. Mrs. Kefalogianni presented the national plan for tourism and highlighted its significance in Greece’s economic recovery. In her interviews in the Japanese media, she underlined the great importance of attracting tourists from Japan to Greece. On the occasion of the second anniversary of the earthquake in the northeastern coast of Japan, the tourism minister expressed her sympathy to the victims families. On Wednesday, 13 March, Mrs. Kefalogianni will visit the city of Sendai, located in the affected area, and meet with the city’s mayor.
