Heraklion is represented this year at SeaTrade Miami by the president and CEO of the Heraklion Port Authority, Ioannis Bras, and the president of the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Heraklion, Emmanuel Alifierakis.

Heraklion, Crete, is participating for the third time in the SeaTrade Miami international cruise shipping exhibition with a series of proposals and high expectations for the coming year. SeaTrade Miami is taking place 12 to 14 March 2013 in Miami Beach, Florida, US.

“For the past four months we have been preparing for the exhibition and have sent concrete proposals, especially for homeporting,” the Heraklion Port Authority’s president and CEO, Ioannis Bras, said.

Mr. Bras has scheduled meetings during the SeaTrade exhibition with the world’s leading cruise companies such as Tui Cruises, Costa Crociere, Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival Cruise Lines.

“This year we will present our project for the new Cruise Terminal we want to build at Heraklion Airport for homeporting purposes and our new technology applications that will be installed at the port with the cooperation of the Region of Crete,” Mr. Bras said. The new technology applications are said to offer a new interactive information experience to cruise guests in Heraklion.

Also, the new “Fly, Stay & Cruise” project for the Russian market, which will start for the first time from Heraklion, will be presented. New tours throughout the prefecture for cruise passengers will be presented as well.
