Lufthansa2Lufthansa will now fly directly to Athens six times per day from its main hubs Frankfurt and Munich, according to an announcement. This increases flights to/from Frankfurt to 21 per week and to/from Munich to 21 flights per week.

The German airline’s new summer timetable includes five new holiday destinations: Mahón, Jerez de la Frontera, Cardiff, Glasgow and Varna.

In the long-haul segment, Lufthansa will launch on 16 May a new service from Munich to Vancouver on the west coast of Canada in addition to the existing connection from Frankfurt.

From July, passengers in Europe can book and experience the new product and fare concept of Germanwings that will gradually take over Lufthansa’s point-to-point routes, except Frankfurt and Munich.

The 2013 summer timetable offers Lufthansa customers a choice of flights to 218 Lufthansa destinations in 82 countries (previous year: 216 destinations in 83 countries).

With the introduction of the 2013 summer timetable, Lufthansa announced it was withdrawing its services to Perm and Kazan in Russia for financial reasons. However, the airline is increasing frequencies on its routes to Nizhny Novgorod and Samara.

The summer timetable runs from Sunday 31 March to Saturday 26 October 2013.
