The new tourism office, scheduled to open Saturday 23 March at 6pm, is located in the Town Hall Square, in the center of Kalabaka, and will aim to serve as a one-stop service point for visitors to the area. “Through the most innovative ways, visitors will be informed on the tourism services and experiences that destination Meteora and the surrounding area have to offer,” the “Visit Meteora” team said in a press release. The company will also work with organizers of alternative activities, tour operators, tour guides, mountain guides, hotels, restaurants, associations, unions, the municipal authority, expatriate clubs and the church to protect the natural and spiritual character of Meteora and seek a sustainable tourism development based on alternative and religious tourism. “Our main goal is to extend the stay of visitors to our region through their participation in a series of organized alternative activities,” said “Visit Meteora.” New portal “Visit Meteora” has gathered all its services and useful information in an innovative portal and is designed to function as a source of information and a channel for communication among visitors and the tourism businesses of the destination.
