The Halkidiki Tourism Organization participated in this year’s MITT exhibition in Russia (21-23 March) and said a strong investment interest from the Russian side was expressed for the acquisition of hotels and land (in Paliouri in Kassandra and Agios Ioannis in Nikiti) through Greece’s privatization agency TAIPED.

During the exhibition, the president of the organization, Grigoris Tassios, held meetings with representatives of leading Greek tour operators in Russia and presented the destination to over 200 travel agents at a forum held by Mouzenidis Travel.

He also attended a meeting with the representative of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece and Secretary of the Synod office of pilgrimage tours Archimandrite Spyridon Katramados and discussed the promotion of Mount Athos in Chalkidiki to the Russian market through pilgrimage tourism packages.
