Event News A Vintage School Band That Still Rocks! by GTP editing team 1 April 2013 written by GTP editing team 1 April 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 The band Achtypita Fileta (Unbeaten Steaks), represents an era of school rock bands of a couple of decades ago. The curious thing about this specific band is the fact that, although it has been more than 25 years since they graduated, they are still playing! After a short break of 20 years, they got back together and, “with a bit more body weight and a lot less hair,” they play covers from all past and current decades along with a couple of their own singles while always promising a full house, rocking like there’s no (working) tomorrow. The interesting fact about their gigs is that, although most of their fans are by now in their mid 40’s, they always turn up and as it turns out, they are ready to rock as if they all were in their 20’s. The band on the other hand, has accumulated a lot of experience in all those years and also rehearses every single week no matter if there is gig coming up or not. “It is our kind of team therapy”, their drummer Yiannos (43), an information technology expert consultant and travel industry entrepreneur, exclaims with a knowing giggle. This coming Saturday afternoon, and after a two year break in order to take care of necessary loose ends such as giving birth to their children, the group is going on stage once again at the historical venue of “Rock n’ Roll” in Kolonaki Square and promises another much needed steam-releasing experience!
