Initiatives Hilton Athens Announces Results Of Annual Fundraising Campaign by GTP editing team 1 April 2013 written by GTP editing team 1 April 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 Hilton Athens guests helped to make a big difference to disadvantaged children and young people by raising 2,916.74 euros in the Hilton in the Community Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign. The campaign “Small Change, Big Difference” ran in Greece along with 144 other Hilton hotels in 21 countries across Europe from October to December 2012. The campaign as a whole has raised a massive total of over 177,500 euros, which will make a huge difference to the lives of young people. The campaign invited guests staying at Hilton Worldwide hotels to add an optional 1 euro onto their room bill during their stay. Since its inception in 2004, the campaign has already raised over 1.33 million euros for children’s charities. “I would like to express my gratitude to our generous guests for their support… The small change from our guests really does make a positive difference to local children,” Bart van de Winkel, general manager of Hilton Athens, said. The funds raised have been donated to help the work of The Smile of the Child, which is raising funds towards its teaching staff costs of its new educational center in Aegion.
