In 2012 Greeks spent some 1.8 billion euros on travel to other countries. As individual travelers the Greeks spent 1.6 billion euros and through organized trips they spent 234.7 million euros. In total, 4.68 million trips abroad were made by Greeks (4.36 million trips made by individual travelers and 312.700 via organized packages). Last year, most Greeks opted for travel to Turkey (533.500), Bulgaria (509.300) and Germany (416.800). Greeks spent the most in Germany (262.5 million euros), the UK (198,5 million euros), Italy (153.8 million euros) and Turkey (91 million euros).
