Trade Associations - Gov Greece Expects To Welcome One Million Russian Tourists This Year by GTP editing team 11 April 2013 written by GTP editing team 11 April 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 10 Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation Evgeny Pisarevsky “Some one million Russian tourists are expected to visit Greece this year,” the deputy head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation, Evgeny Pisarevsky, said today, 11 April, during a meeting with Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni in Athens. Mr. Pisarevsky arrived in Athens to attend the 8th Joint Commission for Greek-Russian Cooperation. “The relations of the Russian Federation and Greece are of strategic importance, not only in regards to tourism, but also in all economic, political and social activities,” Mr. Pisarevsky said. On her part, Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said that early bookings from Russia were proceeding “very well” and that Greece is hopeful to welcome a large number of Russian visitors to the country this year. “As a country we are interested that the cooperation we have with Russia is not coincidental and casual but for it to have results that will appear over time,” the tourism minister said. Mr. Pisarevsky also said that the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation was making efforts to promote Russia as a tourism destination to Greek travelers.
