Acropolis MuseumOn the occasion of International Day for Monuments and Sites on Thursday, 18 April, the Acropolis Museum in Athens has announced that entrance to the museum will be free for the public 5-8pm.

International Day for Monuments and Sites

UNESCO established 18 April as the International Day for Monuments and Sites in 1983. It aims to raise public awareness about the diversity and vulnerability of the world’s built monuments and heritage sites and the efforts required to protect and conserve them.

In 2013, the theme is the Heritage of Education (schools, universities, libraries, academies, etc.) in its expressions in different geo-cultural contexts.
