Event News Spetses Classic Yacht Race 2013 To Be Held In June by GTP editing team 17 April 2013 written by GTP editing team 17 April 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 14 For the third year in a row, the Yacht Club of Greece will hold the Spetses Classic Yacht Race on Spetses Island, 13-16 June. The yachts to take part in the race, from Greece and abroad, will be divided into three sub-categories according to their age: Classic Boats – categorized into Vintage (built prior to 1949), Classic (built 1949-1975) and Spirit of Tradition (built after 1975), Aegean Schooners and Open Boats. Last year, 50 yachts took part in the regatta. The oldest vessel was dated back to the 1900’s. The gold sponsor of the race is CHIVAS Regal and hospitality organizer is the Poseidonion Grand Hotel.
