Photo: opreisgids.nl Greece was honored as the best European holiday destination to travel to by air at the Zoover Awards 2013 ceremony held on 22 April. For the past two months, Dutch travelers voted for their favorite holiday destination on Dutch holiday review site zoover.nl. More than 150,000 votes were submitted. Data from website Zoover.nl shows that the interest of the Dutch to visit Greece increased significantly in the first months of 2013. According to Dutch news site opreisgids.nl, the Greek National Tourism Organization Director for The Netherlands Eleni Skarveli said over 700,000 Dutch tourists are expected to visit Greece this year. “We are delighted that Dutch tourists have remained loyal to us and the beauty of our country and will continue to enjoy it,” Ms. Skarveli said upon receiving the award.
