The career week was organized for the second consecutive year and aimed to assist the professional orientation of young students interested in working in the tourism field. Within the framework of the Careers@Hilton Live event, the Hilton Athens organized a professional guidance week in cooperation with the Technological Educational Institute’s (TEI) of Athens and Piraeus and private schools BCA and Le Monde. Some 130 seniors and graduates of tourism schools had the opportunity to see how a hotel operates, held discussions with executives to engage in a “role play” on customer service and were offered advice on writing a CV and how to properly present themselves during business interviews. According to Jean Faivre, area vice president western & southern Europe of Hilton Worldwide, the tourism sector – an important career option for young people today – is expected to create some 73 million new jobs by 2022. Over the next few years, Hilton Worldwide will add over 135 hotels to the 240 hotels currently in its portfolio in Europe.
