Discover Milos Through The “Miloterranean Geo Experience”

The Milos Mining Museum recently launched a new initiative to enrich Milos island’s tourism product by utilizing the unique volcanic origin of its landscape and the island’s rare geology.

The new initiative is entitled Miloterranean Geo Experience and offers seven maps with detailed routes and concise text to guide the visitors during their discovery of the island’s unique geology, wealth of mining history and present and beautiful natural environment.

Geologists, mining engineers, foresters, cartographers and historians combined their expertise and insight to take the visitor on an unprecedented journey to the Cycladic scenery and highlight Milos’ uniqueness at a global level.

“The new initiative of the Milos Mining Museum, Miloterranean Geo Experience, emerged through the Milos visitors’ persistent admonition for the creation of a more complete guiding tool to the island’s sites of geologic, industrial, and mining interest,” Nicole Kyriacopoulos, representative of the Milos Mining Museum Management Committee, said at the recent presentation of the initiative in Athens.
