The agreement was made by Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni who is currently in China as a member of the Greek delegation headed by Greece’s Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. The PM aims to attract Chinese buyers for Greek assets and products. The trip ends tomorrow, 19 May. According to reports, China’s Wanda Media will produce “Beijing Love Story” and the cast will include the country’s most famous film stars. Wanda Media belongs to Wanda Group, one of China’s biggest business and investment companies. Filming will begin this July in Athens and Santorini and the film is expected to be released in February 2014. The name of Greece and the Greek National Tourism Organization’s logo will accompany the film’s promotional campaign. It is estimated that some 214 million viewers in China will watch the movie in cinemas in 300 Chinese cities. “Beijing Love Story” will also be seen through China’s satellite television network CCTV, DVDs and the Internet. The film will be screened at the international film festivals in Cannes, Venice and Tokyo. Producers have also agreed to screen videos of Greece during the film’s official premiere next year and also make specific reference to the Greek destinations that appear in the film during the closing credits.
