First airline alliance to introduce customized iPad App

star allianceStar Alliance recently launched a new iPad app to serve as a complement to its existing iPhone app and continues its strategy to provide integrated mobile access to its products and services.

The new app is entitled “Navigator” and enables users to easily access flight information, schedules and contact information of all its member airlines; worldwide lounge locations and details; and airport information.

Its key new feature “My Trip” enables customers to store and monitor their Alliance flight itineraries.

The Navigator app also allows users to access an interactive 3D globe which visually depicts the Star Alliance network of 27 airlines, 30,000 daily flights and 1,329 destinations worldwide.

The app can now be downloaded via the Star Alliance website or directly from the App store.

Star Alliance has 28 members worldwide including Aegean Airlines, Air Canada, Air China, Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, South African Airways, SWISS, TAM Airlines, TAP Portugal, THAI, United and US Airways.
