Greece is among the 30 winners, selected from nearly 200 nominated projects, of the 2013 EU Prize for cultural heritage/Europa Nostra Awards, according to a recent announcement. The country was honored in the category “Conservation” for the Propylaea Central Building, Acropolis, and the other in the category of “Dedicated Service” for the Committee for the Conservation of the Acropolis Monuments (ESMA). Public Choice vote Greece now, automatically, has two entries in the Europa Nostra’s Public Choice vote for the 30 winners of the 2013 EU Prize for cultural heritage/ Europa Nostra Awards! The award ceremony will take place on 16 June at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens during the Europa Nostra’s European Heritage Congress for 2013. Of the 30 winning projects, six will be named as grand prix laureates in Athens and one of the winners will receive the public choice award, based on an online poll conducted by Europa Nostra.
