The “Greek Breakfast” program is an initiative of the hotel chamber and is designed to promote and establish the country’s gastronomy through Greek hotels.

According to the chamber, the latest addition to the program is that of Eastern Macedonia. On Wednesday 29 May, the “Greek Breakfast of Eastern Macedonia” will be presented in Kavala in an event organized by the Association of Hoteliers of Drama, Kavala and Thasos. The Eastern Macedonia region is the 15th destination where local hoteliers and producers agreed to sign a local quality pact to establish Greek breakfast throughout the area’s hotels.

Statistical studies reveal that a destination’s gastronomy is one of the most important factors a visitor takes under consideration when choosing where to go on holiday.

Greece has incredible products but unfortunately, for various reasons, they have been underestimated. We are touring all of Greece to record every destination’s local products and our goal is to make suggestions to every region for a standard Greek breakfast menu to be created for each region’s hotels to serve,” the supervisor of the “Greek Breakfast” program, Giorgos Pittas, said.

The latest “Greek Breakfast” presentations have taken place in Alexandroupolis (“Greek Breakfast of Thrace”), Halkida (“Greek Breakfast of Evia”), Santorini (“Greek Breakfast of Santorini”), Rethymno (“Greek Breakfast of Crete”) and Corfu (“Greek Breakfast of Corfu”).
