The terminal is at Gate E12 and can serve up to 25,000 passengers per day. The new cruise passenger terminal covers an area of 5,600 square meters and by the end of the year, the construction of a third cruise terminal of 3,500 square meters is expected. By the end of 2013, all three cruise terminals of Piraeus Port will cover an area of 15,500 square meters. The president and CEO of the Piraeus Port Authority, George Anomeritis, said that with the new extension of the piers, it is estimated that Piraeus Port will become the most important hub among Mediterranean cruise ports. Piraeus Port sees increase in arrivals According to data on tourist arrivals and departures at Piraeus, released by the authority, there has been an increase of 24.68 percent in the first quarter of 2013, compared to the same quarter in 2012. Home porting passengers in the first quarter this year were up 22.05 percent and amounted to 8,120, compared to 6,653 in 2012. Transit passengers increased by 24.94 percent and amounted in the first quarter to 88,948 compared to 71,194 in 2012.
