The program, which targeted 10,000 unemployed young Greeks up to age 29, was launched earlier this month by the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) and the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE). According to SETE, some 50,000 Greeks applied for the 10,000 positions in the tourism labor market. The results were posted on the website where the applications were submitted (website www.sete-voucher.gr). “There was an overwhelming interest of our youth to enter the labor market of tourism, a privileged area with excellent prospects in our country,” SETE’s president, Andreas Andreadis, said. The program The internship program will last three to five months and those selected to participate will receive 80 hours of theoretical training and 500 hours of practical exercise in various positions in Greek tourism enterprises (hotels, travel agencies, airlines, car rental companies and others). Applicants will earn between 2,400 and 2,700 euros. The program is funded by the operational program “Human resources development” and stakeholders.
