Trade Associations - Gov Good Signs For Greek Congress Tourism At IMEX 2013 by GTP editing team 31 May 2013 written by GTP editing team 31 May 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 Congress tourism professionals from all over the world showed a great interest in Greece at this year’s International Exhibition of Congress Tourism IMEX that took place in Frankfurt last month, according to the Greek National Tourism Organization office in Germany. The Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers (HAPCO) participated in the GNTO’s stand at IMEX 2013. At the Greek pavilion, which covered a total area of 275 square meters, the GNTO presented the advantages of Greece’s congress and incentive travel product to some 150 hosted buyers from different countries. According to the GNTO, the chief of the GNTO office in Germany, Panagiotis Skordas, held a series of meetings aimed to strengthen the efforts towards the promotion of congress tourism in Greece. The Greek pavilion hosted 26 representatives of congress tourism, convention centers, Athens Convention Bureau, HAPCO (Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers), HATTA (Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies), entrepreneurs and individual hotels. According to IMEX, some 9,000 professionals attended the three-day exhibition in Frankfurt and discussions focused on future cooperations for conferences and special travel incentives. Individual business meetings were said to have increased by 33 percent. The next IMEX exhibition will be held 20-22 May 2014.
