Chandris Hotels President Yiorgos Paidousis receives the Medical Tourism Friendly Hotel (MTFH) certificate from Greek politician Dora Bakogianni.

Athens-based Metropolitan Hotel, member of the chain Chandris Hotels, was honored today, 13 June, with the first Medical Tourism Friendly Hotel (MTFH) certificate by TÜV Rheinland Hellas.

The Metropolitan is the first hotel in the world to be certified as a MTFH hotel.

The awarding of the certificate took place during a special event in which the MTFH requirements were presented to the Greek tourism market and tourism professionals were informed on the MTFH “Quality Requirements Framework.”

The scope of MTFH “Quality Requirements Framework” is to enhance the effectiveness of hospitality services in the context of serving particular categories of customers of the tourism and accommodation services sector.

Furthermore, by complying with MTFH requirements, the “Enterprise” endorses a specialized competitive profile in the hospitality sector regarding medical tourism services.

TÜV Rheinland Hellas, member of International TÜV Rheinland Group, has developed this specialized quality and safety standards’ framework, with the aim to enhance efficient management of the medical tourist or international patient in hospitality and accommodation services.

The MTFH quality requirements frame is officially approved by the International Certification Body for Medical Services, TEMOS International, recognized worldwide for its expertise and exceptional experience in the certification of medical tourism services.
