The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels announced the launch of a series of seminars to inform Greek hoteliers and local tourism professionals on the principles of modern tourism marketing.

The initiative kicked off 15-16 June with two regional events held on Crete (Heraklion and Chania).

According to the chamber’s president, Yiorgos Tsakiris, the current method, used by individual hoteliers and the industry as a whole, to promote and distribute the Greek tourism product needs to be updated in accordance to modern marketing techniques.

Mr. Tsakiris said the chamber decided to invest in the seminars to improve the quality of tourism marketing in Greece by providing specialized knowledge and suggestions to hoteliers on how to promote their businesses.

The chamber this way also supports the collective effort to improve the country’s image as a founding partner of the private marketing company for tourism “Marketing Greece.”
