ioas_AIAThe Hellenic Road Safety Institute (RSI) “Panos Mylonas,”* in the framework of its long collaboration with Athens International Airport (AIA), has launched the campaign “Travelling Greece in Comfort & Safety” in the airport premises for the month of July.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of visitors in Greece about road dangers and accidents, especially during the summertime when the road network has a greater number of vehicles.

The special material created by “Panos Mylonas” Institute is placed in seven poster cases and appears on the airports dedicated screens.

The month of July was selected considering the fact that during this time of the year an increase in road traffic incidents, both serious and fatal, have been recorded, according to the statistics of the Hellenic Road Traffic Police.

Taking under account that the “human error” accounts for 65–95 percent of road traffic accidents, the “Travelling Greece in Comfort and Safety” campaign points outs that all dangers “lurking in the road network,” can be avoided with the appropriate behaviour of all road users.

* The non-profit organization Hellenic Research and Educational Institute “Panos Mylonas” for the Road Safety, Prevention and Reduction of Traffic Accidents” – (RSI Panos Mylonas) – was established in 2005 and aims to prevent and reduce traffic crashes by undertaking, supporting and promoting activities on issues dealing with the study, research and dissemination, information and training related to road safety.
