Air Canada rouge recently took to the skies as it launched its seasonal non-stop service between Athens and Toronto/Montreal. Air Canada rouge is Air Canada’s new leisure airline, part of the Air Canada Leisure Group, along with Air Canada Vacations. The airline offers four flights from Athens to Toronto and two flights from Athens to Montreal per week, operated by Boeing 767-300ER aircraft that offer three comfortable seating options; rouge, rouge Plus and Premium rouge. “We offer our customers a new kind of leisure travel service with outstanding customer service, uncompromised safety, a relaxed in-flight environment and a host of Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations benefits, all at highly affordable and competitive fares… With Air Canada rouge you can truly vacation ahead,” said Michael Friisdahl, president and chief executive officer at Air Canada rouge. Isabelle Knoblauch, Air Canada general manager Switzerland, Austria, Italy & Greece recently hosted a ceremony at Athens International Airport (AIA) to mark the inaugural Athens-Toronto flight. She was joined by His Excellency, Robert Peck, Ambassador to Canada in Greece as well as by Yiannis Paraschis, AIA’s CEO and Ioanna Papadopoulou, AIA director, communications and marketing.
