Event News Chandris Hotels Hosts 6th World Karate Cup by GTP editing team 9 July 2013 written by GTP editing team 9 July 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 Hotels Corfu and Dassia of Chandris Group on Corfu hosted the athletes that participated in the 6th World Karate Federation Youth Cup and the “Karate 1-Youth World Cup” held 1-7 July. Training sessions took place in the Dassia Chandris where the athletes practiced under the instructions of top coaches and world champions such as Davide Benetello (World & European Champion, member of the WKF Athletes Commission), Esteban Perez (WKF Organization Commission Chairman) and Ioannis Kanellis (WKF Kumite Referee A and Kata Judge A, HKF National Coach since 1990 until today). The 6th WKF Youth Cup was held in the National Indoor Corfu Sport Hall under the auspices of the Hellenic Karate Federation and the support of the Region of the Ionian Islands, Corfu Municipality and the Municipal Organization of Culture, Sports and Environment. The island of Corfu was in the spotlight of karate events for a week. Having attracted more than 600 players and participants from more than 30 countries, including chaperones, coaches and managers of the International Karate Federation and the Hellenic Karate Federation, visitor numbers exceeded 1,000.
