SynAthinaThe City of Athens has launched an online platform named Synathina (συνΑθηνά) that will operate as a calendar of actions and events carried out by the city’s citizen groups that aim to improve the quality of life in Athens.

“We are inaugurating this online platform where all actions of the city’s citizen groups (non-governmental organizations or neighborhood groups) will be posted,” Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis said on 10 July at the platform’s launch.

Events such as clean up and planting actions, initiatives for the needy, neighborhood concerts, etc., will be included on the calender.

In the Athens municipality alone some 120 citizen groups have been set up.

Mayor Kaminis said he will aim for the initiative to spread across the country for similar networks to be created in other cities such as Thessaloniki.

The online platform has been designed and set up by CrowdPolicy and Communication EFFECT.
