Travel agents from the Ukraine recently experienced the culture, monuments, archaeological sites, nature, products, flavors and Greek hospitality during a familiarization tour of the region of Western Macedonia and specifically to the prefectures of Kozani, Florina, Kastoria and Grevena.

The tour was held 4-9 July and organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) offices in Western Macedonia and Russia.

During the tour, the Ukrainian travel agents met with tourism professionals of Western Macedonia and discussed possible future collaborations. GNTO President Chritos Pallis took part in the meeting.

“Western Macedonia can be a strategic step to develop alternative forms of tourism for the whole country. If we shift to alternative forms of tourism, we will boost the region’s tourism development on a year round basis,” he said.
