Athens To Host Black Sea Tourism Forum This Fall

BlackSeaMapSelected tour operators, trade representatives and top buyers of the European tourism market are expected to participate in the “Black Sea Tourism Forum & Workshop” to be held in Athens, Greece, this fall.

The workshop is a joint initiative of the City of Athens and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and will be held under the organization of the Athens Development & Destination Management Agency.

The B2B workshop will be held 10-11 October 2013 and aim to increase the flow of tourists from countries of the wider Black Sea region (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, etc.) to Athens and Greece and also strengthen the visitor flows between the 12 countries that constitute the zone of activity of the UNDP Black Sea Trade & Investment Program (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine).

Expecs_handshake3_1ted to attend the workshop are distinguished buyers from Europe (UK, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands and France), the U.S. and and the Black Sea region.

International organizations will support the workshop such as the World Youth Student & Educational Travel Association (WYSE), the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), the Romanian Association of Travel Agencies (TIES), The International EcoTourism Society (TIES) and the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB).

The event will also include a hospitality program and an extensive acquaintance program of the Greek capital to present the tourism portfolio and competitive advantages of Metropolitan Athens as a tourism destination.
