Santorini

SantoriniPopular Santorini was left again in the dark in the early hours of Wednesday, 21 August, due to a short circuit in the electricity network.

Today’s power cut follows a fire at Santorini’s power station last week that left the island in the dark for days.

Anastassios Nikolaos Zorzos, mayor of the island’s capital city Thera, said the power cut was not caused by a problem at the electricity facility.

According to reports, power to the island is expected to be fully restored within hours.
