The tenure of the committee is two years and begins in January 2014. SETE already Chairs the current Board of Affiliate Members and coordinates its action under the UNWTO Affiliate Members Programme. “The election of SETE once again on the committee of Affiliate Members comes to recognize, firstly its consistent presence and contribution to international tourism actions… and secondly, the importance and specific gravity of Greece on the global tourism scene,” said SETE’s director general, George Drakopoulos, who represents the association in Affiliate Members. UNWTO’s some 500 Affiliate Members are companies, organizations, destinations, NGOs, educational institutions or bodies whose activities are related to tourism and which contribute their knowledge and expertise to UNWTO to promote the development of responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism.
