Both hotels are in the 5-star category. “As members of the Metaxas’ Group of Companies, high quality services are very important to us,” said Serafim Karouzakis, hotel manager of the Candia Maris Resort & Spa. On his part, Nikos Vlassiadis, hotel manager of Creta Maris Beach Resort, said that part of the hotel’s strategy is to continue developing sustainable tourism services that are geared towards people and the environment. “The evaluation and certification of our top-class hotels according to allergy-friendly criteria is a logical step in this direction,” Mr. Vlassiadis said. Candia Maris Resort & Spa Many of the rooms in both hotels fulfil the requirements for guests with allergies. The rooms are free of houseplants and have a smooth floor surface that is cleaned regularly with an allergy-friendly vacuum cleaner. Anti-mite protective mattress covers and bedding are available on request. Products for sensitive skin are available in the bathrooms. The hotels offer breakfast buffets with lactose-free and gluten-free options and nut-free muesli in their restaurants. The menus for hot meals also provide options for food allergy sufferers at all times. The service staff is trained by an ECARF allergy specialist and is able to answer any questions guests may have about the allergy-friendly services and food ingredients.
