Trade Associations - Gov Kefalogianni Departs For U.S. To Promote Greek Tourism by GTP editing team 26 September 2013 written by GTP editing team 26 September 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 9 Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni departed for the United States on Thursday 26 September to further promote Greek tourism to American citizens and the media. This is her second visit to the country this year. During her official visit, Mrs. Kefalogianni will participate in the Concordia Summit, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote and build public-private partnerships around pressing global issues. The annual summit convenes over 400 of the world’s most prominent business, government and non-profit leaders. The tourism minister will also attend an event of the Hellenic Initiative, a global, non-profit, secular institution whose vision is to mobilize the Greek diaspora and philhellene community to support sustainable economic renewal for Greece and its people. The event will be chaired by former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Mrs. Kefalogianni’s agenda includes meetings with the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) Board of Directors and top airline officials. The tourism minister also intends to inform selected insurance companies and physicians based in New York on Greece’s approach to medical tourism. During her stay in the U.S., Mrs. Kefalogianni will give interviews to major media (BLOOMBERG, Washington Post, Voice of America) to enhance Greece’s image in the U.S. tourism market.
