Now available in over 90 countries, Travelport Universal API is the first API that aggregates content from the GDS (air, car and hotel), accommodation providers, low cost carriers, high speed rail suppliers, and merchandising and ancillary services through a single connection. Travelport Universal API enables developers to gain access to multiple content sources by writing code for only one solution, decreasing the time required to launch new travel applications. The API is available to developers and companies that want to build or expand their commercial business from creating next generation travel applications and tools. “We are delighted to launch the Travelport Universal API in Asia as developers in this region see the value in this unique technology which helps them develop innovative new travel apps quickly and efficiently,” said Patrick Andres, Travelport’s Vice President and Regional Managing Director, Asia-Pacific. Travelport Universal API, together with the Travelport Developer Network – the program that supports the developer community to grow businesses by building applications using Travelport technology and promoting them to 67,000 travel agency customers worldwide – reinforces the company’s open platform strategy in providing open and flexible access to content and services.
