Destinations news Navarino Bike Festival Set To Launch by GTP editing team 10 October 2013 written by GTP editing team 10 October 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 61 Amateur and professional cyclists have only one more day to go before the start of the first international mountain bike race in the Southwest Peloponnese “Navarino Bike Festival.” From 11 to 13 October, the three day event and the specially created course of the races will offer the opportunity to amateur cyclists of all ages, to race like pros. The festival will host two main events for cycling professionals and enthusiasts to test their endurance through new and challenging race experiences. 12 October 2013 – Open Race – Everyone can participate. 13 October 2013 – International Cross Country Race – professional cyclists will participate in the race which is included in the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI). Many leading and distinguished athletes will honor “Navarino Bike Festival” with their presence. A series of social and cultural events and activities will be held throughout the festival that will highlight the Messinian history, traditions and culture. “Navarino Bike Festival” will take place under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Sports (Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports).
