The title of the conference is “Cultural values and tourism development in rural areas” and will take place 17-18 October at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Key themes – Responsible tourism: managing culture and heritage in rural areas by the cooperation of all interested stakeholders. – European, national and regional development policies for developing local initiatives and small-scale cultural tourism projects. – Cultural tourism in rural areas: motivating tourists, marketing and branding. The conference will consist of three key-note speakers, 12 interesting paper presentations, poster session and interactive workshops. A study trip to rural Crete is also planned.
