Presentations took place in Brussels and Amsterdam and included the participation of hoteliers from the island who held B2B meetings with foreign tour operators, travel agents and journalists. Some Facts on Evia The Halkida bridge connects Evia with the mainland of Greece. Evia, the second largest island of Greece, lies on a prominent position very close from the mainland. By crossing the two bridges that connect Evia with the mainland, one can reach Athens International Airport in just 45 minutes. According to the GNTO, the island offers 70,000 beds in total, spread through 1,100 tourism accommodations of all categories; from 5-star resorts to self catered villas and campsites. The island’s infrastructure and services are accessible to different budgets and all types of holidays. During their stay, visitors have the opportunity to discover the island’s unique natural beauty that ideally combines sunny beaches with alternative tourism activities that include hiking, mountain biking, climbing, off road, 4X4 jeep excursions and kite surfing.
