The starting point of the “1st bike ride: R2A Athens 2013” will be Starwood’s two hotels – Hotel Grande Bretagne and King George – with a route of 36 km (giving two alternatives a shorter route of 20 km and the longer of 36), passing through the historic center of Athens, under the Acropolis and the seafront Avenue and ending at the walkway behind the two hotels with a BBQ event.

The Starwood Road to Awareness program aims to support UNICEF through fundraising till 20 December 2013.

Road to Awareness (R2A)

road-to-awareness-starwoodThe Road to Awareness (R2A) associate fundraising campaign has been making a positive difference to children in the communities Starwood operates in since 2008.

Every year between April and November, employees throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East organise fundraising events in their hotels to help support a chosen UNICEF project.

For 2013, Starwood Hotels & Resorts aims to raise over USD$500,000 to support 8,000 very poor and excluded children in Cameroon and Nigeria.

The annual Road to Awareness fundraising campaign will this year help children get a chance of enrolling in school and the right to an education.
