Exhibitions Kefalogianni Leaves For The UK To Promote Greece by GTP editing team 30 October 2013 written by GTP editing team 30 October 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 11 Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni will depart for London, UK, on 30 October to meet with major tourism industry executives and further strengthen ties with the UK market to boost arrivals of British tourists to Greece. In London, Mrs. Kefalogianni will hold meetings with Andrew Cook and Johan Lundgren, senior executives of holiday giants Thomas Cook and TUI Travel, respectively. She also has scheduled meetings with the UK’s minister for sport, tourism and equalities, Helen Grant and deputy minister for foreign affairs, Mark Simmonds. According to a press release by the Tourism Ministry, during all her meetings, Mrs. Kefalogianni will refer to the axes and objectives of the national strategy for the further development of Greek tourism. Particular attention will be given to the planned measures and policies to develop theme tourism and improve the level of offered services to upgrade quality in tourism and extend the vacation season in the country, one of Greece’s biggest challenges. Mrs. Kefalogianni will refer to the new institutional framework for Greek tourism and speak about the government’s aim to strengthen entrepreneurship and facilitate investors. She will also inform on the ministry’s plans to promote new Greek tourism destinations. The tourism minister is scheduled to give a series of interviews to international and UK media outlets such as CNBC, CNN, Sky News, Bloomberg and Financial Times. During her stay in the UK, Mrs. Kefalogianni will attend the World Travel Market 2013 (WTM) that opens its doors on 4 November at ExCeL London.
