Athens_Ledra_MarriottThe Athens Ledra Marriott will not be accepting bookings for 2014 from 31 December 2013 as the hotel in the Greek capital will no longer operate as a Marriott, according to an announcement on the website of the international hotel chain Marriott Hotels & Resorts.

According to press reports, Paraskevaides group that owns the premises did not agree to the new terms set by the international hotel group and declined to renew the management module contract that expires at the end of 2013.

The owner of the hotel is currently in search of a new cooperation for the unit’s management and most likely the premises will not have to shut down.

Despite removing the “Marriott” brand from the Athens-based unit on Syngrou Avenue, Marriott Hotels & Resorts has said to not have lost interest in the Greek capital.

The Athens Ledra Marriott counts a 30-year presence in the Greek capital.
