The European Day of Wine Tourism is simultaneously held in main wine territories in Europe on an annual basis every second Sunday of November since 2009. The initiative, promoted by European Network of Wine Cities (RECEVIN), is a day that invites wine and tourism lovers to enjoy the activities organized by the cities and routes of wine in European countries, with the aim to appreciate and promote the territories as economical actives and stimulate wine tourism. European wine cities and routes organize activities around the viniculture sector, such as guided tours to wineries, wine tasting, visits to tourist and historical places, walks through vineyards, sample tapas, etc. to promote wine tourism in their territories.
