chania11chania_papadoulakis1The promotional video of the Municipality of Chania’s tourism campaign was once again honored as it won three awards at this year’s ART & TUR International Tourism Film Festival that took place recently in Barcelos, Portugal.

The video “Chania: A Journey through the countryside” by director and Chania resident, Thodoris Papadoulakis, won the following awards:

1. Best Script
2. “City of Barcelos”
3. “Memorable Experiences” (second place)

In the video, instead of watching the movie “Zorbas” again on TV, a tourist leaves his rainy home and travels to Chania, to dance his Syrtaki on Stavros beach – where the movie was shot – and other beautiful spots of Chania’s countryside.

This latest triumph of Chania’s tourism campaign follows the awards won at the 8th Film, Art & Tourism Festival “FilmAT” in May in Poland and the 5th edition of SILAFEST – the Tourism Film Festival held in September in Serbia.
