accessible_tourismToday, 3 December, is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the UNWTO has released its recently updated Recommendations on Accessible Tourism.

For individuals with disabilities, travel and tourism can be an empowering experience. UNWTO is convinced that travel facilitation for people with disabilities is a vital element of any responsible and sustainable tourism development policy.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992.
