The former four-star Hotel Portes Palace in Halkidiki, northern Greece, has reopened to guests after a full renovation and a name change. The hotel was closed in 2012 following the aquisition of the parent company “Portes Melathron SA” by Russian investors.

The new five-star Pomegranate Spa Hotel is welcoming guests and considered an ideal suggestion for travelers that wish to combine luxury accommodation while vacationing in one of Greece’s most stunning locations.

Following a full renovation this year, the hotel now sports a brand new design that balances spacious minimalism and delicate chic, original Greek style and up-to-date hi-tech.

The Pomegranate Spa Hotel offers 132 double rooms with views to the sea, Mount Olympus and the unique gardens, designed by landscape architects. It also has 17 Junior Suites, 5 Superior Junior Suites, 8 Standard Suites, 8 Special and Family Suites & 7 Themed Suites (Loft Suite, Pomegranate Suite, President Suite, New York Suite, Ludovicus Suite, Tokyo Suite & Moscow Suite).

The fully renovated areas of the hotel include three restaurants of which one serves Greek dishes and fish and the other is ideal for gourmet dining. The main restaurant specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. There are also five bars, an animation club, a conference center, a business center and many places to shop.

The hotel’s center of relaxation and wellness, the Afrodita Roa Spa, with a total area of 1,700 square meters, offers an indoor pool with sea water and is considered one of the most exclusive and biggest in Greece. The spa center offers a wide range of services and is operated by highly-professional specialists. In addition, the hotel’s fitness center is equipped with the latest machinery and technology.

The total investment of the Pomegranate Spa Hotel will ascend some 29 million euros and be completed in full in January 2014.

The hotel’s director is Yiorgos Valsamidis and Dimitris Memtsias heads the reservation department.
