Destinations news Thessaloniki’s “Asterokosmos” Christmas Park To Open 7 December by GTP editing team 5 December 2013 written by GTP editing team 5 December 2013 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 13 Thessaloniki is on its way to become a Christmas tourism destination through “Asterokosmos,” the region’s largest Christmas park, that will open its doors on Saturday 7 December. Asterokosmos will operate in three pavilions (13,14 and 15) within the fairgrounds of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center. Activities will include acrobatics, theater performances, ice rinks and motor games, rides, Christmas flavors, gift bazaar, holiday beverages, live bands, prize draws and surprise concerts. The official opening of Thessaloniki’s Christmas Park will be on Sunday 8 December, at 7:30pm, when the Greek Minister of Macedonia-Thrace Theodoros Karaoglou will illuminate the Asterokosmos Christmas tree. Organizer TIF-Helexpo aims to establish Asterokosmos as the city’s main Christmas attraction. Over 100,000 visitors are expected at Asterokosmos Park this holiday season. Opening hours and admission Until 20 December 2013, Asterokosmos will be open on weekdays from 5pm to 10pm and weekends from 11am to 10pm. As of 21 December until 6 January 2014, Asterkosmos will be open every day from 11am to 10pm. Christmas Eve & New Years Eve times: 11am-9pm Entrance to Asterokosmos is 6 euros per person and includes access to all games, rides, two ice rinks, performances and activities in the park.
