Zagoria is a complex of 46 villages located on the north western side of Greece. The “Zagori Excellence Network” (ZEN) is a private initiative and includes 14 hotels, two restaurants and two companies from the municipality of Zagora and Ioannina. Through innovative actions, the network will aim to promote the area as a potential tourism destination in Greece and abroad and thus contribute to the economy of the local community. ZEN’s target international markets will be Israel, France and Germany. According to the president of the network, Vassilis Katsoupis, ZEN’s “vision” sees to create a network of businesses, local and regional authorities, based on cooperation and the development of synergies, to highlight Zagoria as a top holiday destination through improved services and the offering of unique experiences to guests. Zagoria will also be promoted as a top tourism destination to visit throughout the year, besides the winter period.
