Culinary Mount Athos Gastronomy Event To Launch In May 2014 by GTP editing team 4 January 2014 written by GTP editing team 4 January 2014 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 19 Mount Athos Area Kouzina, an initiative of the Mount Athos Area Organization and chef Dina Nikolaou, will hold 34 gastronomic evenings this year in the Athos region in Halkidiki from 15 May to 15 June. The initiative aims to promote the area’s local production and products and establish the area as a gastronomy destination to attract thematic visitors. Every night at 8, the head of the organization, chef Dina Nikolaou and 13 local chefs, in cooperation with five European chefs will prepare menus based on local products. The menus will be accompanied by local and monastic wine and offered in various restaurants in the Mount Athos Area, Halkidiki. In addition, more than 80 Greek, European and Asian journalists will attend the Athos area to take part in the experience. Further information and the event program can be found here. Mount Athos Area Kouzina travels abroad Prior to its gastronomic evenings in May-June, Mount Athos Area Kouzina will first travel to 11 European cities and present thematic menus, dishes and local products to a total of 220 press representatives and travel agencies.
