HSW_InteramericanThe Hellenic Seaways (HSW)-Interamerican emergency medical assistance program for travelers “Safely Together” was branded a success for the 2013 season.

According to Hellenic Seaways, 1,432 travelers were treated through the “Safely Together” service between 15 June – 31 December 2013. During this time, Hellenic Seaways passengers received medical advice during their journey and within the seven-day coverage period after their journey and used the services of an ambulance or helicopter for transport to the hospital when necessary. In other instances, the service covered hospitalization expenses for incidents occurred outside Greece.

Hellenic_seaways_INTERAMERICAN“Safely Together” was first launched in 2010 and is specially designed by Interamerican for all HSW passengers. The program begins the moment passengers board the ship until seven days after the end of the journey.

Specifically, the coverage provided in case of passenger illness or accident includes: health transport of the policyholder; repatriation of family members that are traveling with policyholders; hospital coverage abroad; care for the underage children of the policyholder; ticket for a close relative in order for him/her to be with the policyholder in case of hospitalization; and coverage of hotel accommodation expenses for the close relative.

To make use of the unique benefits of the “Safely Together” service, passengers are advised to keep their ticket stub as the printed data such as the ticket number, passenger name, the ship and date of travel are required.
