The strong unitary character of the recently launched Peloponnese Tourism Organization was presented to a room full of Greek hoteliers during the 3rd General Assembly of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels held recently.

President Konstantinos Marinakos underlined that the organization is the first interregional tourism agency launched on the initiative of local hoteliers and has come to inform the Greek and international tourism market that the Peloponnese is a united and indivisible tourism destination.

“As a result, any tourism policy for the Peloponnese, from where ever it comes from, must concern the destination in its entirety,” Mr. Marinakos said.

In addition, Mr. Marinakos argued that a key priority for the further tourism development of the Peloponnese is the launch of synergies between the new organization and the local government. The organization’s president also intends to work closely with the tourism and development agencies of the State.

The Peloponnese Tourism Organization was formed in October 2013 by the seven regional units that comprise the Greek destination of the Peloponnese – Achaia, Arcadia, Argolida, Corinthia, Elis, Laconia and Messinia – in cooperation with the region’s hotel associations.

The organization’s main aim is to give the Peloponnese region the tourism development and marketing tactics it needs for a dynamic promotion within Greece and abroad.
